Septic tanks emptying

The Municipality is responsible for emptying septic tanks from isolated residences in order to ensure compliance with the Regulations on the disposal and treatment of wastewater from isolated residences. Regular emptying and a municipal monitoring helps the Municipality identify and eliminate sources of nuisance, unsanitary conditions or environmental contamination.

Frequency

Any septic tank serving an isolated residence used year-round or seasonally must be emptied once every two years according to the schedule determined by the municipal inspector. The septic tanks are emptied in two areas, one area per year.
